The Shop was robbed again this afternoon. IMPD was on the scene immediately, and owner Brian Kelly called us right away. We alerted our email list of Village business owners so they could be on alert.
The Shop employee was able to give much more information to IMPD regarding the suspect and his vehicle. In order to avoid impeding the investigation, we aren’t able to release more details yet. We are confident, however, that IMPD is making quick progress on the case. We are hopeful that an arrest will be made soon. We will share more information as soon as we are able.
We want to publicly thank IMPD for their efforts. We want to acknowledge North District Commander Mike Wolley for his constant communication with us. We also want to emphasize that our community of business owners, employees and residents has been extremely cooperative and helpful in these efforts. We hope the results of that will be evident soon. Broad Ripple will continue to thrive. After the robbery, in fact, The Shop reopened and had a huge sales day. Our neighborhood will not be defined by this smattering of violence committed by one individual.
