Meet Chad Fallis and Molly LawlessVance, the newest additions to our BRVA Land Use & Development Committee. These two veteran community volunteers will lend two distinct and valuable perspectives on the Committee.

Chad Fallis

Education: Ball State University. Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management 1994

Broad Ripple Story: I bought my first home on 52nd St near Indianola in 1995. In 2000 I purchased 6131 Carrollton. The now beautiful block did not look like it does today. It was gratifying to begin restoring and renovating my home and see the contagious affect upon the other homeowners. Linda Shikany, owner of Marigold, lived in the duplex across the alley for a short time and recruited me to serve on the BRVA Board of Directors on which I remained for a total of 4 years in the mid 2000’s. My home at 6131 was on the first Broad Ripple home tour and then again for a special twilight home tour event a couple years later. I decided to sell that home in 2008 and then purchased my current home only 4 doors down the block at 6107 Carrollton because I had grown to love my neighbors and idyllic location. After a significant renovation, my current home was on the 2013 and 2019 Broad Ripple home tours. Having been a active participant of the Broad Ripple community for over 20 years now, I feel I have experienced nearly all aspects of life in the village and continue to love our community and the unique qualities it offers to its residents, businesses, visitors and the greater city. I love Broad Ripple! However, I feel we have potential yet to be realized. Life experience: Although my degree is from the business school, I had initially considered architecture. I consider myself “aesthetically sensitive” and believe that even if something is beautiful, it is not good design if it does not function well. Seeking a different life experience, I leased my home, retained my business in Indy and moved to LA in 2014. While in LA I did design work in addition to my mortgage business. Gaining an understanding of this rapidly developing city full of creativity was inspirational. I met my Love Adolphus Fifer in LA and we chose to return to Indy in early 2018 with a renewed appreciation for Indy and my beloved Broad Ripple home.

Professional: I have been a residential mortgage originator for 26 years. Consequently, I work closely with many Realtors and have a keen interest and understanding of the Indy Real Estate market.
