With the passing of Ross Faris in late 2011, the original “Dinner in the Garden” organized by Ross and held on his farm became an annual event in the farm-to-table tradition for presenting an award in his honor.

Ross was one of the earliest vendors to participate in the BRFM and a driving force in developing the Market. We commemorate his farm-to-table spirit by very thoughtfully and deliberately choosing a recipient each year who personifies that ethos in bringing fresh healthy food to our community.

This year the dinner that bears him name will again take place on Sunday, September 15, on the Commonground at Eskenazi Health.

The event, which is also a fundraiser for the market, features a six-course meal prepared by local chefs and paired with a cocktail and four wines donated by local distributors. Our BRFM vendors donate most of the ingredients for the meal.

Proceeds from the dinner will go to support our Fresh Bucks program and for the relocation of the Market in 2020-2021.
