The Northside Food Pantry is open this week. Please DO NOT move safety cones to park in the Pantry Area!
There’s never been a better time to shop the Market! Fruit in abundance and vegetables coming on strong! We’ll have tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, carrots, squash, sweet onions, fresh garlic, herbs, cauliflower, cabbage, and more! Pete’s Peaches is bringing Gala and July Rose peaches and a few white nectarines – they are amazing! And Jason Michael Thomas is bringing chanterelles this week.
Sad News: Liz Chapman
You may have noticed that someone has been missing at the Earthly Delights booth for the past few weeks. Liz Chapman, the owner and personality behind Earthly Delights has been very ill and passed away on Tuesday. You might remember Liz for the homemade beef vegetable soup she brought every October to express her appreciation for our market customers. In keeping with their mother’s wishes and in her honor, her children and staff will participate in this Saturday’s Market. Services for Liz are being planned for Saturday July 24, so Earthly Delights likely won’t be participating in the Market that week. Please stop by their booth this week to offer condolences. We’ll miss you Liz!!!
Maplewood Farms will be out until August because of an accident on the Farm. But their Maple Syrup is available until then at their website. This is Week 3 for our part-time vendors but Reton Gourmet will be out this week. See our complete Summer Market Vendor List for regular schedules for all of our full-time and part-time vendors. And to locate your favorite vendors at the market, check out the Vendor Map.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Ultimate Summer Sandwiches
Two great sandwiches for hot summer days, very different but easy to make. One is loaded with veggies and is super nutritious while the other is just delicious and quintessentially Hoosier. Recipes here.
MUSICAL GUEST: Thistle Sisters
We are very excited to have folk duo Julia Spangler and Bethany Walters back this week. Great music from two enterprising entrepreneurs!
FYI – all our musicians volunteer for duty at the Market so tips are much appreciated!
