With Thanksgiving coming up next week, I’ve been thinking about all of the things we have to be thankful for. We’re so thankful for all our wonderful vendors who work so hard to bring fresh local food to the Market; our loyal customers who make it all worthwhile; and our dedicated volunteers who make it all possible.
We’re thankful that we have weathered a couple of crazy years of the pandemic and seem to be getting back to normal. I’m personally thankful for my parents weathering Hurricane Ian in Florida and for everyone who has pitched in to keep them safe and make them comfortable in the aftermath. I’m sure you all have specific personal reasons to be thankful too.
Hopefully everyone will be gathering with someone next week whether in large groups of family or friends, or with one special person who makes you thankful that they’re in your life. And whether you’re planning to cook up a storm for a crowd or just order takeout, we wish you a warm and wonderful day and many blessings in the year to come.
Now, for those of you planning to do some cooking, check our recipe archive for loads of delicious dishes like Shaved Vegetable Salad, Roasted Stuffed Delicata, or Sheet Pan Roasted Veggies, to name a few. They’re sure to make the day special and healthy.
Cook’s Tip: Those decorative pumpkins and other squashes you bought for Halloween — don’t throw them out. They keep for a long time in a cool dark place and you can make some great Thanksgiving side dishes with them!
