The 2024 Summer Broad Ripple Farmers Market will start this Saturday, May 4 th, at 6001 North Rural Street, in the parking lot behind Lowe’s at Glendale Town Center. This is the same space the Market was held in 2020 and last year. (See the location on Google map.)

In preparation for Opening Day, we would like to remind everyone about our market policies – see below.  We will send our regular Market newsletter on Friday with information about new and returning vendors, parking, music, and the Annual Tree Giveaway.

Weather Policy – Rain or Shine

Our commitment to vendors and customers is to be open the days and hours we have published.  That being said, we take weather issues very seriously for the health and safety of all. Our policy is tied to the best information we have at the time a decision must be made on how to respond to impending bad weather. Full details here.

BRFM Dog Rules – (Because Dogs Rule)

We welcome our dog friends at the Summer Market! To encourage best behavior of both dogs and their owners, we have guidance that will assure that they will always be welcome at the BRFM. A new special request this season is for owners to make sure their dogs don’t pee on the safety cones. Our volunteers are responsible for putting these cones away and shouldn’t have to deal with wet smelly cones. See the updated dog rules.

SNAP & Fresh Bucks at the Farmers Market

SNAP (EBT) and Fresh Bucks are available for customers with a Hoosier Works card.  Volunteers at the BRFM booth by the main entrance can swipe a customer’s card and give out SNAP tokens. And each week, SNAP customers are eligible for a matching $20 to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. More information.

Trash and Food Waste at the Market

Trash and food waste at the Market is substantial. We have been able to minimize landfill waste by collecting recyclables, compostables, and food waste in separate bins for appropriate disposal. Ready-to-eat food vendors use only compostable serving containers and utensils! But even so, compostables can look like regular plastic, so we have set up our trash disposal bins in the booth of our compost vendor, Indy Go Green. Audra and her team are there to help guide customers in proper disposal. Complete overview here.
