Vendor News
- The warm weather has led to a bountiful harvest for Thanksgiving! We still have peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and green beans in addition to traditional fall produce like fennel, celery, onions, squash, collards, chard, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, & radishes, and so many beautiful greens and herbs!
- Last chance to drop off your Halloween pumpkins and squashes for composting! BRFM composting vendor Indy Go Green will take them for composting. Bring straw and cornstalks too! The collection trailer will be near the south entrance to the Market.
- Phelps Family Farm was out unexpectedly last week after an unfortunate encounter with a deer on their way to the Market. The Phelps are fine but the truck – not so much. Their sale planned for last week (save $1/lb. on their lean pork burgers) will take place this week!
- Filigree Bakery is taking Thanksgiving preorders this week for fall macarons, seasonal scones, and granola.
- J’adore Bakery is bringing a frangipane galette, chocolate pots de creme AND savory Moroccan sandwiches!
Vendor Schedules
- Chez Pauline French Bakery is back full time starting this week.
- J-adore Bakery, (only week 3), starts their Winter season this week.
To find vendor locations at the Market, check the newsletter Vendor Map each week or scan the Vendor Map QR Code at the entrance to the Market. Click here to see the complete list of our Winter Market vendors. The Vendor Map and Vendor list are also available on our website.
Remember to bring CASH in order to purchase from the few vendors who don’t take credit cards (Norman Mullet Farm and Phelps Family Farm).
Lost & Found items are turned in to the BRFM Information booth – be sure to check there if you’ve lost something (water bottles, wallets, kids’ stuff) at the Market.
WHAT’S COOKING
Butternut squash salad with collards and radicchio
Collards are married with the sweetness of roasted butternut squash, a touch of bitter radicchio, and salty Parmesan, for a fresh side dish perfect for cutting through the richness of any Thanksgiving menu. Get the recipe!
MUSIC AT THE MARKET
Dan Kusaya
Danmore Kusaya is a one-man band — cool, likeable, and unique. His musical mix is world and afrobeat-groovy. Dan uses story-like lyrics, and powerful looping of several instruments while performing original songs and more. Our musicians volunteer to perform at the Market,
so tips are much appreciated!
