Vendor Highlights for March 1, Week 1

Vendor News and Updates

  • New Vendor Yoltlayohle starts this week! Their name which means “heart of the corn” refers to the masa harina or corn flour that they offer pressed tortillas in three different colors of corn – blue, yellow and white. They also offer fresh balls of dough so that customers can press their own tortillas or make other interesting shapes for sopes or gorditas.
  • Seasonal vendor Get Dirt Rich Soil and Compost starts this week just in time for garden prep!
  • Butterfly Hill Flower Farm is back this week with their first fresh spring flowers!!
  • Tulip Tree’s Fromage Frais is a spreadable cow’s milk cheese made with savory herbs and spices. It’s good on crackers, bread, pasta, eggs, salmon, or roasted veggies. And it’s $1 off in March.
  • Check out the new 4-inch pies this week at Pots & Pans!
  • Just a reminder that the first Market of the month is when Tall Girl Pasta brings balls of fresh pizza dough.
  • Phelps Family Farm has 1 lb. packages of their mild, sage breakfast sausage on sale $1 off. And they have a few packages of pork burgers left half price!

Vendors out/schedule changes

  • Lumpia Creations is with us this week since she can’t be with us next week on her normal schedule.
  • Niche Nourishment is out this week, back March 15.
  • Xchocol’Art is out this week because of illness – back next week!

WHAT’S COOKING:
Creamy Mushroom Soup (Gombaleves)

This hearty, warming soup is a Hungarian version of creamy mushroom soup, with a good dose of Hungarian paprika and fragrant dried herbs imparting its unique, earthy hue and flavor.  Get the recipe.

MUSIC AT THE MARKET:
JBJ Collective

The JBJ Collective is a BRFM favorite organized by brothers JaSaun and Jaydon and joined by various talented friends! This week they are jointed again by uber-talented vocalist, Jackie Gunn. They do a mix of jazz, funk, and R&B music from the past and present. Come enjoy the fun vibe! Our musicians volunteer to perform at the Market, so tips are much appreciated!
