During the month of April, we hosted our first ever Membership Drive with the goal of bringing in new business and resident memberships to build a stronger, more sustainable Village association. Through the help of volunteers, incentive prizes donated from area businesses, and the support of the community, we surpassed our goal. We began the drive with a goal of raising $7,500 in new and renewed memberships, and we are excited to announce that at its conclusion we raised $19,225! All the money raised will support the operations of the association, which includes the management of five key program areas: Community Organizing, Economic Development, Design, Promotion, and Administration. Thank you to all our volunteers – which included IUPUI students, BRVA board members, and members from the community – who donated their time and talent walking the area to distribute door hangers and conducting phone banks to former and prospective members. Food to help fuel our volunteer team was generously donated by Erbert and Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop, Einstein Bros Bagels, and Donatos. Thank you to the businesses who donated incentive prizes: Brothers Bar and Grill, Flatwater Restaurant, Kilroy’s Bar n Grill, Moe & Johnny’s, Sangrita Saloon, Uptown Pup and The Vogue. It truly takes a Village! The community came together to make our inaugural membership drive a tremendous success and we are sincerely grateful.
