The BRVA is almost entirely run by an exceptional group of committed volunteers. There are opportunities to serve our community by volunteering to assist in events, serving on several standing committees, or joining our Board of Directors for a three year term.
If you are interested in Board Service, please see the Board expectations listed below. The process of joining the Board is detailed in the bylaws, but this is a quick summary. Our Annual Election is held during our Annual Fall Public meeting in October. Candidates interested in serving on the Board apply and are subsequently interviewed by the Governance Committee, who then recommends a slate of candidates for the membership to vote at that meeting. The three year Board terms start in January of the following year. One-third of the Board is up each year.
