We are deeply saddened about the news of the tragic death that occurred early this morning. This is what we have directly from IMPD:
Just after 3:30 a.m., on October 3, 2019, Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were dispatched to 6331 Ferguson St. in response to a caller stating someone was shot at that location. Officers arrived and located an unresponsive adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). IEMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Early information indicates the escalation of an argument. While we are confident this is an isolated incident, no level of violence is acceptable in our neighborhood. We will continue to work with IMPD North District and relay information to the public in a timely manner.
IMPD has authorized an increase in patrols on the Broad Ripple beat for greater visibility and crime prevention. The safety of Broad Ripple residents, visitors and employees is of the utmost importance.
