Are you one of the many who have contacted us recently regarding the ridiculous amount of garbage in Broad Ripple lately? We hear you. It is frustrating to have our village looking so trashed when we all take so much pride in our neighborhood.

In response to this, we are receiving 5 new large trash receptacles from the Department of Public Works today. We have also sent out a note to business owners reminding them that the sidewalks and ROW in front of their building are their responsibility to keep clean and litter-free. Please help us by encouraging our local businesses (management, ownership, staff) to join us in cleanup efforts. Not only is this mandated by city ordinance, but it is important to keep Broad Ripple appealing to shoppers, diners and visitors.

PLEASE NOTE: Even if businesses are not yet open, it is their responsibility to do their part. We respect every business’s choice regarding how and when they open back up, but trash is still everyone’s responsibility.

We will continue our First Saturday Cleanups with Broad Ripple Kiwanis, and also are actively seeking groups to add additional cleanup days. Are you part of a group (Greek organization, student group, place of worship, activity club, etc) that wants to help? Email us here and we’ll provide pickers, buckets, and even water for your crew. BONUS: We’ll also give you massive appreciation on our social media platforms.

Our Beautification Committee is hard at work trying to keep our Village clean. If you’d like to join their efforts, send an email here.

With your help, we will have a neighborhood we are all happy to call home. Thank you!
