VENDOR NEWS & UPDATES:
- Look for fresh produce like cantaloupes, watermelons, sweet corn, peaches, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, lettuce, squash, green beans, okra, scallions, leeks, garlic, celery, kale, kohlrabi, cabbage, chard, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, radishes, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, sweet & hot peppers, herbs, mushrooms, and fresh picked flowers!
- Turchetti’s Salumeria is returning to the Market part-time (Weeks 1/3). The award-winning USDA meatery produces handcrafted salami, deli meats, bacon, and sausages!
- Full Hand Farm is back this week with all the usual good stuff – plus Jimmy Nardello peppers! These are a lovely Italian frying pepper – think peppers and onions and sausages!
- Gladiolus are making their annual splashy appearance at the Market. Find them at Bloomer’s Greenhouse, Weathered Plow Farmstand, Christopher Farm, and possibly other vendors.
- Jason Michael Thomas will have organic non-GMO sweet corn again this week and organic rye sourdough bread.
- Feeling uneasy about buying lettuce in the grocery store? One of the many advantages to shopping fresh and local from the Market is that our small family-owned farms have safe growing practices that ensure produce you can feel confident consuming.
Look for safe fresh local lettuce from Freedom Valley Farm, Full Hand Farm, Weathered Plow Farmstand, Christopher Farm, and Norman Mullet Farm.- Demand for lettuce is likely to run high for the foreseeable future. Try making salads with other green produce like arugula, microgreens, and herbs. Or try sturdy greens like kale, chard, or collards.

Lost & Found items are turned in to the BRFM Information booth – be sure to check there if you’ve lost something at the Market.
WHAT’S COOKING: 3 Ways to Use Plums
Plums in season are a rare treat. Use them to make these special seasonal dishes that accentuate their fruity summer goodness. And peaches would work as a substitute for plums in any of these (for when you can’t find plums). Get the recipe.
MUSICAL GUEST: North – Thistle Sisters
We love having the folk duo of Julia Spangler and Taz Walters (aka Thistle Sisters) at the Market whenever we can. Great music from two talented and enterprising entrepreneurs. Come listen while you shop and linger over breakfast!
MUSICAL GUEST: South – Judy Liu
