Special Guests: The Indy Arts Council

The Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA), in partnership with the Indy Arts Council, has launched a year-long community process that will result in a first-ever Public Art Master Plan for Broad Ripple Village. The new planning effort will build on the legacy of Broad Ripple as the city’s first cultural district by bringing residents, artists, businesses, and community partners together to help define how public art can continue to shape the neighborhood’s identity and public spaces. Representatives of the planning process will be available to talk about your ideas at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market and other community events in May and June; there will be several public meetings, an online questionnaire, and the opportunity to comment on plan drafts. The final plan will be issued in late fall. Learn more by visiting their website and click on the pink “Sign up for updates” button to stay current about what’s going on and how you can get involved.

WHAT’S COOKING:
Radish Sandwiches with Butter and SaltThe key to this sandwich version of classic French Radis Beurre is to use a lot of butter, a lot of radishes and plenty of salt! The recipe yields four full-size sandwiches, or you can divide them into a dozen little bites for hors d’oeuvres.
MUSIC AT THE MARKET:
Dan KusayaDanmore Kusaya is a one-man band — cool, likeable, and unique. His musical mix is world and afrobeat-groovy. Dan uses story-like lyrics, and powerful looping of several instruments while performing original songs and more. Our musicians volunteer to perform at the Market,
so tips are much appreciated!
