Vendor Highlights for July 25, Week #4
VENDOR NEWS & UPDATES:
- Look for fresh produce like cantaloupes, watermelons, sweet corn, peaches, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, zucchini, English shell peas, green beans, scallions, leeks, garlic, celery, lettuce, kale, kohlrabi, cabbage, Swiss chard, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, radishes, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, herbs, mushrooms, and fresh picked flowers!
- From My Dad’s Sweet Corn: Always store corn in its husk in the refrigerator. It will be good to eat for up to one week. However, eating it sooner rather than later is better because its natural sugars turn into starch with every passing moment after it is picked.
- Kuacha & m(eh) is back this Saturday with apricot cake (last time this season), plum cake, buttermilk coconut cake, linzer, lemon bars, and the usual cookies and breads.
- Christopher Farm is bringing eggplant, poblano peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, garlic, greens, fresh flowers, and more!
- Weathered Plow Farmstand had cantaloupes and okra last week as well as blueberries and even a few strawberries!
- Don’t forget – ready-to-eat food and coffee are available at the Market. Cafe tables and chairs are set up to enjoy your breakfast while listening to live music from our volunteer musicians!

To find vendor locations at the Market, check the newsletter Vendor Map each week or scan the Vendor Map QR Code at the entrance to the Market. Click here to see the complete list of our Summer Market vendors. The Vendor Map and Vendor list are also available on our website.
Remember to bring CASH for the few vendors who don’t take credit cards (Norman Mullet Farm, Johnnie Raber Family Farm, and Phelps Family Farm).
Lost & Found items are turned in to the BRFM Information booth – be sure to check there if you’ve lost something at the Market.
WHAT’S COOKING: Million Dollar Corn
Last year the trend in recipes was “Marry Me” everything. This year the favorite descriptor is “Million Dollar”. The implication is that the recipe is incredibly rich, and in this case it does not disappoint. With thick cut bacon, heavy cream, and gourmet spreadable cheese, this corn dish is worthy of the label. Get the recipe.
MUSICAL GUEST: North – Whobilados
Whobilados play a mix of lively traditional tunes and originals blending multi-part vocals, with varied instruments, for their highly listenable music. Be entertained while you shop or take a break to sit and listen.
MUSICAL GUEST: South – Dan Kusaya
Danmore Kusaya is a one-man band — cool, likeable, and totally unique. His musical mix is world and afrobeat-groovy. Dan uses story-like lyrics, and powerful looping of multiple instruments while performing original songs and so much more.
Our musicians volunteer to perform at the Market, so tips are much appreciated!
